Marisol Wong-Villacres

Marisol Wong-Villacres is a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology and an active researcher in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). Her research focuses on social justice, equity, and inclusion, with particular emphasis on decolonial design approaches and asset-based design frameworks. She examines the role of technology in Latin American communities, immigrant families (particularly parental engagement in education), and low-trust environments. Actively involved in building academic communities, she advocates for citation justice and feminist solidarity. She has published numerous high-impact papers at prestigious conferences such as CHI and CSCW, striving to promote more inclusive and critical HCI research.
