Nikolas Martelaro

Nikolas Martelaro is an Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon's Human-Computer Interaction Institute, where his research focuses on enhancing designers' capabilities through new technologies and design methods. His work combines a background in product design methods, interaction design, human-computer interaction, and mechatronics engineering to develop tools and approaches that help designers better understand users and create human-centered products. Before joining Carnegie Mellon, he worked as a Digital Experience Researcher at Accenture Technology Labs in San Francisco. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, with research centered on human-machine collaboration, design tools, and interaction with automated systems.
