Aniket Kittur

Aniket “Niki” Kittur is a Professor in Carnegie Mellon University’s Human-Computer Interaction Institute and its Associate Director for Strategy and Partnerships. His research on AI-augmented cognition combines artificial intelligence, cognitive science, social computing, visualization, and new interaction techniques to help individuals and groups make sense of overwhelming information and accelerate decision-making and innovation. His research interests include sensemaking by groups and individuals, collective intelligence, visualization and insight, and cognitive psychology.

He has authored or co-authored more than 100 papers, 17 of which have received best paper awards or honorable mentions. He is a Kavli Fellow, a CHI Academy inductee, and a recipient of an NSF CAREER Award and the Allen Newell Award for Research Excellence. His personal site highlights work including Distributed Sensemaking, Kinetica, The Knowledge Accelerator, Unakite, Strata, Selenite, and Inkspire; his research also extends to Analogical Engines, a cross-domain analogy and innovation platform.
