Chinmay Kulkarni

Chinmay Kulkarni is an Assistant Professor at Carnegie Mellon University's Human-Computer Interaction Institute and the director of the Expertise@Scale lab. His research focuses on the intersection of large-scale data and automation, exploring how technological innovation can enhance human learning and work efficiency. Systems developed by his research team have been used by over 100,000 people across 150 countries and adopted by companies such as Coursera and edX. Chinmay Kulkarni holds a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University, where his doctoral dissertation received the Arthur P. Samuel Award. He has worked at Microsoft Research and the Barcelona Supercomputing Center.
