Michael Madaio

Michael A. Madaio is a senior research scientist at the Responsible AI and Human-Computer Interaction research group at Google Research. His research focuses on supporting AI developers in designing responsible AI systems, addressing issues such as fairness, transparency, and ethics. He holds a Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University and was a postdoctoral researcher in the FATE (Fairness, Accountability, Transparency, and Ethics) research group at Microsoft Research. His work has received multiple Best Paper Awards at leading academic conferences, including the ACM Conference on Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency (FAccT) and the Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI), among others.
