Zijie J. Wang

Zijie Jay Wang is a researcher in the field of artificial intelligence, currently conducting safety research at OpenAI. He focuses on making AI more accessible, explainable, and responsible. He has developed human-centered interactive interfaces that enable users to align machine learning systems with their values. His projects have benefited over 250,000 AI beginners and have been employed by Microsoft to audit and remediate issues in AI model behaviors. Additionally, Jay Wang has had significant academic impact as one of the core creators of the DiffusionDB dataset and was recognized in Forbes’ “30 Under 30 in Science” for 2025.
