Jed R. Brubaker

Jed R. Brubaker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Science at the University of Colorado Boulder and a founding member of the department. His research focuses on digital identity, social media, and human-centered computing, examining how identity is designed, represented, and experienced in technical systems. His work spans computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), human-computer interaction (HCI), psychology, and science and technology studies. Brubaker's research on digital legacy management is particularly notable, directly contributing to the development of Facebook’s “legacy contact” feature and gaining international attention. He also founded the first clinic in the U.S. dedicated to providing free services in digital legacy management—the Digital Legacy Clinic.
