Haiyi Zhu

Haiyi Zhu is currently an Associate Professor at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) of Carnegie Mellon University and the Director of the Undergraduate Program in Human-Computer Interaction. She earned her bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Tsinghua University, and subsequently obtained her master's and Ph.D. degrees in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University. Her research focuses on areas such as social computing, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence and human-AI collaboration, algorithm design, and fairness. Professor Zhu has received multiple awards from the National Science Foundation (NSF), including the CRII Award and the Network Human Systems Award. She has also received best paper awards at top-tier conferences such as CHI and CSCW, as well as the Allen Newell Research Excellence Award. In addition to her academic pursuits, she actively contributes to the scholarly community, serving as the Secretary and Treasurer for HCIC and frequently participating as a Program Committee member for CHI and CSCW.
