Yukang Yan

Yukang Yan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Rochester, a member of the ROCHCI research group, and director of the BEAR Lab. He is also a faculty participant in the AR/VR Initiative. His research focuses on the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Mixed Reality, with an emphasis on capturing and predicting user behavior and perception patterns, developing interaction techniques, and creating unique behaviors to enhance user experiences. His work has been widely published in top-tier international conferences such as ACM CHI, UIST, and IEEE VR, earning multiple Best Paper and Honorable Mention awards from CHI and IEEE VR. Before joining the University of Rochester, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Augmented Perception Laboratory at Carnegie Mellon University and earned both his Ph.D. and Bachelor's degrees from Tsinghua University.
