Hyunsung Cho

Hyunsung Cho is a fifth-year PhD student at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute of Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Professor David Lindlbauer. His research focuses on enhancing user capabilities in Extended Reality (XR) through context-aware digital support, minimizing disruptions, and optimizing the user experience. Hyunsung’s research interests include developing personalized XR interfaces that dynamically adapt to users' environments and goals, as well as designing multimodal interaction techniques that integrate natural inputs (e.g., gaze, voice, gestures) with visual, auditory, and haptic outputs. His goal is to create technology that seamlessly integrates into users' lives, enabling them to focus on what matters while easily accessing digital support. Additionally, he has gained extensive practical experience through research roles at the Computational Behavior Lab at Aalto University in Finland, Meta Reality Labs, and Nokia Bell Labs.
