Joanna McGrenere

Joanna McGrenere is a Professor and Co-Head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia, as well as a member of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto, an MSc from the University of British Columbia, and a BSc from Western University. Her research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly in personalized user interfaces, universal usability, and assistive technologies. She is highly recognized in the academic community and has received numerous awards, including the Computing Research Association's Anita Borg Early Career Award (2004) and the Canadian Association of Computer Science's Outstanding Young Computer Science Researcher Award (2011). Additionally, she is an elected member of the ACM SIGCHI Academy and serves on the editorial boards of several ACM journals.
