Dongwook Yoon

Dongwook Yoon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia. He is also a member of the "Designing for People (DFP)" and "CAIDA" projects. His research focuses on building rich collaborative systems, enhancing human-computer interaction experiences through multimodal interaction (such as voice, gestures, and grasping). His research spans the areas of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC), Augmented and Virtual Reality, and Educational Technology. Yoon is dedicated to addressing mismatches in social processes through technology design. His work has earned numerous accolades, including the Google Faculty Research Award and the CHCCS/SCDHM Early Researcher Award for graphical interfaces. His research is funded by UBC, NSERC, Adobe, Microsoft, and Google.
