Xinning Gui

Dr. Xinning Gui is currently an Assistant Professor in the College of Information Sciences and Technology at Pennsylvania State University. Her research intersects health informatics, human-computer interaction (HCI), and computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW). Her work focuses on transparency, privacy, security, and user experience design in health technology. In addition, she collaborates extensively with machine learning and HCI researchers on topics such as self-tracking, mobile payment design, video game player experience, online behavior governance, and the role of social media in civic engagement. She earned her Ph.D. in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, her M.A. in Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature from Beijing Normal University, and her B.A. in Chinese Literature and Linguistics from Peking University.
