Yunan Chen

Yunan Chen is a Professor in Informatics at the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), as well as the Acting Chair of the Department of Informatics. She earned her PhD from Drexel University and holds a background in medical education with extensive research expertise in health informatics and human-computer interaction. Her research interests focus on health informatics, HCI, and computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), aiming to explore the generation, management, sharing, and utilization of health data to advance clinical and patient-centered healthcare practices. She is also dedicated to designing consumer health technologies that are trustworthy and user-friendly, improving users' experiences in managing their health. Yunan Chen has been elected Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics (FACMI) and recognized as an ACM Distinguished Member for her contributions to the sociotechnical design of health technologies.
