Yubo Kou

Yubo Kou is an assistant professor at Penn State University's College of Information Sciences and Technology, currently serving as the Haile Family Early Career Professor. His research interests center on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), Social Computing, Video Games, and Child Safety. His work explores video game fun, learning, risks, and safety, as well as governance and gaming behaviors in online communities, using human-centered design approaches. Dr. Kou also co-leads Penn State's Health and Gaming Lab, studying how technology can support human health and recreation. He has received National Science Foundation (NSF) funding to investigate user experience and content moderation in online communities.
