Dakuo Wang

Dakuo Wang is an Associate Professor at Northeastern University, affiliated with both the Khoury College of Computer Sciences and the College of Arts, Media, and Design. He leads the Northeastern University Human-centered AI Lab (NEU HAI) and serves as the Founding Director of the MS in Applied Artificial Intelligence program. In addition, he is a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University. Dr. Wang's research lies at the intersection of human-computer interaction (HCI) and artificial intelligence (AI), with a focus on exploring, developing, and evaluating human-centered AI (HCAI) systems. His mission is to make AI accessible to individuals and organizations and enable collaboration with real-world AI systems, ultimately democratizing AI. Before joining Northeastern University, he was a Research Scientist at IBM Research and the Principal Investigator at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab. Dr. Wang earned his PhD in Information and Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, and has professional experience in design, research, and engineering across the United States, China, and France.
