Werner Geyer

Werner Geyer is a research and innovation leader with 25 years of experience in artificial intelligence and user experience, currently serving as Chief Scientist and Principal Researcher for Human-Centered Trustworthy AI at IBM Research. He focuses on designing, building, and validating intelligent systems to enhance the trustworthiness, security, and efficiency of human-machine collaboration. His research interests include integrating generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and AI agents into enterprise workflows to improve productivity, information comprehension, and decision-making while ensuring human autonomy and oversight. He has authored over 110 peer-reviewed papers and holds more than 40 patents, with his research contributions supporting multiple enterprise-grade products such as AutoAI and Watson tools. Werner has received numerous awards for his academic and industrial contributions, including recognition as an ACM Distinguished Member.
