Ron Wakkary

Ron Wakkary is a distinguished scholar in design and interaction design, currently serving as a professor at the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at Simon Fraser University in Canada. He is also a professor in the Department of Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, where he leads the Future Everyday cluster on "Design Beyond Human-Centered Worlds." He founded the Everyday Design Studio, focusing on new understandings of human-machine relationships, multispecies coexistence, and the evolution of design through posthumanist perspectives. Wakkary is dedicated to developing new design paradigms and theories through reflective practice, aiming for more responsible, sustainable, and equitable design methods. He is also the author of the book Things We Could Design for More than Human-Centered Worlds, for which he has received accolades, including the Kyoto Global Design Award.
