Doenja Oogjes

Doenja Oogjes is a researcher specializing in the field of human-computer interaction design, combining digital textile fabrication, ecological approaches, and interaction design. She employs research-through-design, speculative design, and first-person methods to expand design thinking beyond the human-scale perspective. She has collaborated with internationally renowned institutions such as the University of Washington, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, University of Colorado Boulder, and Simon Fraser University. Oogjes has presented her research at various ACM international conferences and has won Best Paper Awards at DIS 2018 and CHI 2022. Her projects, such as "WiFi-no-WiFi" and "Textile WiFi Antennas," explore the relationships between materials and technology as well as our connections to the environment. She currently holds a research position at Eindhoven University of Technology, where she plans to continue her work on textile fabrication and academic studies.
