Chris Harrison

Chris Harrison is a Professor in Carnegie Mellon University’s Human-Computer Interaction Institute and directs the Future Interfaces Group. The group develops sensing and interface technologies for new modes of interaction between people and computers, with work spanning smart environments, wearable computing, mixed reality and gestural interaction. His research combines sensors, AI/machine learning, embedded computation, computer vision, signal processing, interaction design and physical fabrication. Representative projects include Skinput, which uses a wearable bio-acoustic sensor to make the skin an input surface, and OmniTouch, a wearable system for projected multitouch on everyday surfaces.
