Sven Mayer

Sven Mayer is a professor of computer science at TU Dortmund University in Germany. Since June 2025, he has led the Chair for Human-AI Interaction at the Research Center Trustworthy Data Science and Security (RC Trust). His research sits at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and Artificial Intelligence, focusing on the design, construction, and evaluation of intelligent, human-centered interactive systems for next-generation computing. His platforms include augmented and virtual reality, mobile contexts, and robotics. From 2020 to 2025, he was an assistant professor (Jun.-Prof.) of computer science at LMU Munich. Before that, he was an HCI postdoctoral researcher in Carnegie Mellon University's Future Interfaces Group (2019–2020). He completed his PhD in computer science at the University of Stuttgart (2014–2019), with visiting research at the University of Glasgow and the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen.
