Mayank Goel

Mayank Goel is an Associate Professor in the Software and Societal Systems Department (S3D) and the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science. His research spans human-computer interaction, ubiquitous computing, sensing, signal processing, and machine learning applications. He focuses on designing, implementing, and evaluating innovative sensing systems, particularly by repurposing and extending the sensing capabilities of existing devices to maximize their utility. He has extensive research achievements in health sensing, technologies for global development, and novel interaction techniques. Several of his inventions have been deployed in clinics worldwide and licensed to multiple companies. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Washington, a Master's in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor's in Computer Science & Engineering from GGS Indraprastha University in India.
