John Stasko

John Stasko is an internationally renowned expert in the fields of information visualization and visual analytics. He served for 36 years at the College of Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, retiring in 2025 as a Regents Professor. He was one of the founding members of the College's GVU Center. His research began with software visualization and algorithm animation and has expanded into information visualization and visual analytics. Stasko has made significant contributions to academia, serving as Chair of the IEEE VIS Conference and receiving prestigious honors such as the IEEE Visualization Technical Achievement Award and the Career Achievement Award. As an IEEE Fellow and ACM Fellow, he has published over 300 academic papers and supervised numerous PhD students. His Jigsaw system has had a notable impact in the area of investigative analysis.
