Xing-Dong Yang

Dr. Xing-Dong Yang is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Dartmouth College. His research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly on designing, developing, and evaluating innovative interaction systems for smart objects. Dr. Yang's work spans smart devices, ranging from watches and apparel to furniture, and he develops user-centered hardware prototyping tools to enhance information tasks for visually impaired individuals and improve accessibility in STEAM education. His research integrates sensing technologies and haptics to build robust applications for smart physical and virtual environments, addressing social challenges arising from poor interface design.
