Kening Zhu

Dr. Kening Zhu is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Creative Media and the Department of Computer Science at City University of Hong Kong. His research primarily focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly multimodal and embodied interaction, wearable interface design, virtual reality and augmented reality, as well as rapid prototyping technologies. He has published multiple papers at top-tier conferences and journals such as SIGCHI, UIST, and SIGGRAPH, and has received several international awards, including the Nokia Ubimedia MindTrek Award. Dr. Zhu is also actively involved in the DIY maker community and is dedicated to promoting programming education for children through educational initiatives. He established the Multimodal and Embodied Interaction Laboratory (MEI Lab), leading his team to achieve significant research advancements in areas such as mobile gesture interaction, haptic interfaces, and digital rapid prototyping.
