Te-Yen Wu

Dr. Te-Yen Wu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Florida State University. His research areas include Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), intelligent materials, and wearable computing. He joined Florida State University in 2023 after earning his Ph.D. from Dartmouth College. His research focuses on developing scalable, sustainable, and intelligent pervasive computing solutions through intelligent materials and sensing technologies. His doctoral dissertation explored how computational materials can be utilized to create sensitive, easily manufacturable, and intelligent everyday objects. He has published 18 papers in top-tier conferences such as UIST and CHI, earning multiple awards, including the Best Paper Award at UIST 2019 and an Honorable Mention at CHI 2020. Additionally, his work spans interdisciplinary fields such as electronic engineering, materials science, and fashion and art, gaining widespread academic and media recognition.
