Oussama Metatla

Oussama Metatla is an Associate Professor in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) at the University of Bristol, specializing in designing inclusive interaction technologies through research on multisensory interaction and crossmodal perception. His work aims to promote societal inclusivity by incorporating both disabled and non-disabled communities in technology design processes using co-design methods. His research spans areas such as educational technology, virtual and augmented reality, olfactory displays, and crossmodal perception technologies. He is the Co-leader of the Bristol Interaction Group and the Director of the Diverse Inclusive Virtual and Embodied Interaction Lab (Dive Lab). He has been awarded a 5-year ERC Consolidator Grant and an EPSRC Early Career Fellowship, focusing on designing and developing inclusive technologies for blind and visually impaired children.
