Andrea G Parker

Andrea Grimes Parker is an Associate Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Interactive Computing, as well as a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Health Education at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health and Morehouse School of Medicine. She holds a Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Computer Science from Northeastern University. As the founder and director of the Wellness Technology Research Lab, her research spans the fields of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and public health, focusing on digital health technologies and health equity. Her work has been funded by organizations, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Google. Dr. Parker's research interests include investigating racial, ethnic, and economic health disparities, social health management contexts, and designing technical tools to help communities overcome health barriers. Her work also addresses topics such as Black maternal health, youth civic engagement, and health information visualization.
