Yixuan Zhang

Yixuan (Janice) Zhang is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at William & Mary. Her research spans the intersecting fields of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), data visualization, crisis informatics, and health informatics. She earned her PhD in "Human-Centered Computing" from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2023, with a dissertation titled "The Rise and Fall of Online Trust." Yixuan’s work focuses on designing information and communication technology (ICT) and sociotechnical systems to support the development of trust and perception of information during crises. Her research has been published in premier academic conferences such as ACM CHI, CSCW, and IEEE VIS. She was recognized as the EECS "Rising Star" of 2022 and has shared her findings with institutions like the World Health Organization (WHO).
