Brooke Foucault Welles

Brooke Foucault Welles is a scholar researching social networks and digital inequality. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Studies and Associate Dean of Research for the College of Arts, Media and Design at Northeastern University. Her research interests encompass how social networks influence human behavior, digital inequality, social support, and online community building. She helped develop Volunteer Science, an online platform for conducting social psychology experiments. Her work emphasizes enhancing problem-solving accuracy through visualizations and examines how technology can integrate with societal issues to drive progress. Brooke has authored several works on network-based racial and gender justice and has published her research extensively in the international academic community.
