Cosmin Munteanu

Cosmin Munteanu is a scholar in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information and Technology, University of Toronto Mississauga. He is also the Director of the “Technologies for Ageing Gracefully” lab. His research focuses on the intersections of human-computer interaction, user experience design, digital inclusion, aging, natural language processing, and ethics. He employs ethnomethodological approaches to study and design speech- and language-based interactive technologies and media interfaces to ensure they are safe, effective, inclusive, and ethical, empowering digitally marginalized communities, particularly older adults. Cosmin has devoted nearly three decades to advancing natural, meaningful, and safe ways of interacting with information technologies. He is particularly dedicated to designing intelligent applications that improve information access, support lifelong learning, and reduce digital marginalization, helping older adults enjoy life and participate in social activities more fully.
