Malte Jung

Malte F. Jung is an associate professor of information science at Cornell University and the Nancy H. ’62 and Philip M. ’62 Young Sesquicentennial Faculty Fellow. He directs Cornell’s Interplay Research Studio, which studies the interplay between people and automation. His research examines the emotional and relational dimensions of human-AI and human-robot encounters, including how robots become part of everyday work and life, and how interaction changes environments, relationships, and values. His research areas include human-AI interaction, critical and humanistic approaches to computing, arts and technology, science and technology studies, human-computer interaction and design, human-robot interaction, and robotics. His work has been recognized with multiple best paper awards across HRI, CHI, CSCW, and UbiComp, as well as an NSF CAREER Award.
