Richmond Y. Wong

Richmond Y. Wong is an Assistant Professor in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication at the Georgia Institute of Technology, focusing on Digital Media. He also leads the Creating Ethics Infrastructures Lab. His research centers on supporting technologists and designers in making ethical decisions during technology development and deployment, explored through social, cultural, and organizational lenses. He specializes in employing methods from Human-Computer Interaction, Science and Technology Studies, and Design Futuring to investigate issues of technology ethics, particularly in privacy, surveillance, and fairness. He earned his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley School of Information and conducted postdoctoral research at Berkeley's Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity. His work has been published in leading academic conferences and is oriented toward developing creative design approaches to help societies better understand and address challenges in technology ethics.
