Svetlana Yarosh

Svetlana “Lana” Yarosh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Minnesota. She is also a distinguished university educator and a McKnight Presidential Fellow. Lana is part of the GroupLens research team, and her work focuses on Human-Computer Interaction, with an emphasis on embodied interaction within social computing systems. Her research spans areas such as Child-Computer Interaction, online health communities, and ubiquitous health technologies. Lana joined the University of Minnesota after two years of research at AT&T Labs, where she contributed to multiple patents and received numerous academic awards, including the McKnight Presidential Fellows Award and several Best Paper Honorable Mentions at top-tier conferences.
