Eric E. Gilbert

Eric Gilbert is a professor at the University of Michigan School of Information and holds a chaired appointment in Computer Science and Engineering. He leads Michigan’s comp.social lab and collaborates with multiple research centers. His research focuses on developing and studying social computing systems, including social media, computer-supported collaboration, and content moderation. His work has been funded by institutions such as NSF, DARPA, Facebook, and Google, and has won several best paper awards. He is an NSF CAREER awardee, a Kavli Fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, and a distinguished alumnus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, holding a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Computer Science.
