Jun Zhao

Jun Zhao is a Senior Researcher in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, as well as an Oxford Martin Fellow and an Official Fellow of Reuben College. Her research focuses on the impact of algorithm-driven decision-making on everyday life, particularly concerning families and children. She adopts a human-centered approach, aiming to design technology with real-world impact. Jun Zhao is the founder of the Oxford Child-Centred AI (OxCCAI) Design Lab and leads several projects, such as the CHAILD Project and the Ethical Design Project. She collaborates with schools, families, and technology designers to address challenges involving technology, society, and regulation, and actively advises national and international policymakers. She also serves as the UK Regional Lead for the global initiative "100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics."
