Heidi Biggs

Dr. Heidi Biggs is an interdisciplinary design and human-computer interaction (HCI) researcher, currently serving as a Research Scientist at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s School of Interactive Computing, where she co-leads the "Equity and Sustainability in Computing Lab" (ESC Lab). Her research focuses on designing and exploring the relationship between people and the natural environment through information technology, with a particular emphasis on the societal impacts of climate change and the potential of sustainable design. Dr. Biggs holds a PhD in Informatics from Pennsylvania State University and a Master’s degree in Interaction Design from the University of Washington. Her research has been presented at top-tier conferences such as CHI, CSCW, and DIS, covering topics like sustainable design, ecological thinking, and broader societal issues. Her work is featured not only in academic publications but also in interdisciplinary outlets such as architecture and performance art.
