Donald McMillan

Donald McMillan is an Associate Professor in Human-Computer Interaction at Stockholm University. His research focuses on the adoption, adaptation, and use of novel technologies in everyday environments, with a particular emphasis on extending interaction paradigms with conversational interfaces. Professor McMillan conducts in-depth studies in the fields of HCI ethics, social robots, wearable devices, and voice interaction, aiming to apply machine learning to create more natural human-computer interaction modalities. Currently, as a project leader, he spearheads key research endeavors such as “Advanced Adaptive Intelligent Systems” and “Nordic Blue-Collar Work from a Collaborative AI Perspective”, working to develop smarter, more ethical technologies that integrate seamlessly into human activities.
