Dakuo Wang

Dakuo Wang is an Associate Professor at Northeastern University, with joint appointments in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences and the College of Arts, Media & Design. He leads the Northeastern University Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence Lab (NEU HAI), focusing on the intersection of human-computer interaction (HCI) and artificial intelligence (AI), particularly on the development and evaluation of human-centered AI (HCAI) systems. His research aims to democratize AI technologies, enabling individuals and organizations to access and collaborate with real-world AI systems. Previously, he worked as a Senior Staff Member at IBM Research, was a Principal Investigator at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, and served as a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University. He earned a Ph.D. in Information and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Irvine, and holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from École Centrale d'Électronique in Paris and Beijing University of Technology, respectively. His research spans multiple fields, including health informatics, natural language processing, and computer-supported collaborative work.
