Mark Warner

Mark Warner is an Associate Professor in Information Security at the Department of Computer Science, University College London (UCL), part of the Information Security Research Group. His research focuses on the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), online safety, privacy, social computing, and the domains of crime and law enforcement. He has conducted in-depth studies on online social interactions and computer- and AI-supported communication behaviors, particularly on designing social computing technologies to mitigate online harms such as cyberbullying, child abuse, and the spread of misinformation. Before entering academia, Mark worked for over a decade in the digital forensics field in the Middle East and the UK, developing advanced mobile forensics and data recovery technologies for criminal investigation divisions.
