Novia Nurain

Novia Nurain is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan School of Information. Her research focuses on the fields of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), particularly in designing technologies to promote a holistic understanding of socio-technical systems. She earned her Ph.D. in Informatics at Indiana University Bloomington under the guidance of Professor Kay Connelly. Using human-centered research methods such as surveys, interviews, photo diaries, and collaborative workshops, she transforms research findings into theoretical frameworks, design toolkits, and design insights. Her goal is to design equitable information access and support systems for marginalized communities and explore possibilities for collaborative artificial intelligence.
