James Clawson

James Clawson is an Assistant Professor at the School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University Bloomington. His research focuses on the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction and Health Informatics, particularly in mobile health technologies. As a member of the Proactive Health (ProHealth) Informatics research group, he is dedicated to designing, developing, and evaluating intelligent systems that help individuals better understand and manage their health. His work specifically addresses supporting patients through holistic health journeys, such as the breast cancer journey from diagnosis to recovery, pregnancy journeys, and grieving processes. He earned his Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2012, where his research aimed to enhance patient engagement and promote everyday health through technology.
