Jens Emil Grønbæk

Jens Emil Sloth Grønbæk joined the Department of Computer Science at Aarhus University in August 2025 as a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Human-Centered Computing section.[1] His research focuses on Mixed Reality Telepresence and Multimodal Interfaces for collaboration in mobile, distributed work. He describes this direction through a vision of “Blended Collaboration,” grounded in the principles of Materiality, Malleability, and Multimodality.[1][2]

He leads the Blended Realities Lab. BRIDGE (2025–2030) is his European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant project, investigating how Blended Proxemics and a Blended Living Lab can make mixed-reality collaboration across spaces more natural and creative.[3][4]
