Seongkook Heo

Seongkook Heo is an Alfred Weaver Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Virginia, and the director of the Ultimate Interface Lab. His research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly bridging the physical and virtual worlds through novel sensing technologies, feedback mechanisms, and interaction methods. His work has been widely published at premier conferences such as CHI, UIST, and CSCW, and has received multiple Best Paper or Honorable Mention Awards. Additionally, he is a recipient of a Meta Research Award. Professor Heo earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto. His research interests include haptic feedback, interactive systems, and innovative sensing technologies.
