Michel Beaudouin-Lafon

Michel Beaudouin-Lafon is a French computer scientist specializing in the field of Human-Computer Interaction. He earned his PhD from Paris-Sud University in 1985 and has been a Professor of Computer Science at the university since 1992. From 2002 to 2009, he served as the Director of the Computer Science Laboratory (LRI). His research spans the foundational theories of interaction, engineering of interactive systems, and innovative technologies for computer-supported cooperative work. He is the founder and first president of AFIHM, the French equivalent of ACM SIGCHI. He has held key roles in international conferences such as CHI and UIST and was named an ACM Fellow in 2022 for his contributions to HCI, instrumental interaction, generative theories, and his leadership within the academic community.
