Makayla Lewis

Makayla Lewis is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Kingston University, holding a PhD. Her research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience Design, exploring the intersection of technology and human experience. Her academic interests are broad, encompassing cutting-edge areas such as digital payments, information security, and Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI). Dr. Lewis is an active advocate and practitioner of sketching methodologies within the HCI field. Through organizing international workshops and courses, she promotes the use of hand-drawn sketches as a powerful tool for research, communication, and design. Her work aims to make complex technical concepts more comprehensible through artistic and visual approaches, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among professionals from diverse fields.
