Alexander Meschtscherjakov

Alexander Meschtscherjakov is a Professor of User-Centered Design at the University of Salzburg, focusing on research in the fields of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Interaction Design. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and, in 2019, received the Venia Docendi (habilitation certification) in Human-Computer Interaction from the University of Salzburg. His research interests include automotive user interfaces, persuasive technology, user experience, sports human-computer interaction, and HCI for STEM education. He also explores the interaction between human-machine interfaces and artificial intelligence. Professor Meschtscherjakov has participated in several funded projects, including EU-supported SAAM and HADRIAN projects, FWF-funded doc.hci and MaDSAV projects, as well as FFG-funded CARA 1&2, DiMo & DiMo NEXT, and Digibus Austria projects. He has served as the chair of the curriculum committee for the HCI Joint Master’s program, teaches several introductory and advanced Human-Computer Interaction courses, and has published over 100 scientific papers and multiple book chapters. Additionally, he is a steering committee member of various academic conferences, such as AutoUI and the Persuasive Technology Conference.
