Lize Alberts

Lize Alberts is an Assistant Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Behavior at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Her research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, philosophy, and social and behavioral studies. She is dedicated to addressing ethical issues in digital social interactions, particularly in the context of AI-human interaction. Lize completed her PhD in Computer Science at the University of Oxford, focusing on predicting and regulating dark patterns in cyber-physical systems. Her work has significantly influenced the societal roles of AI technology, especially during the pandemic, when devices increasingly replaced social roles traditionally fulfilled by humans. She has published extensively on AI ethics and system-user interactions and actively contributes to academic discussions in these fields.
