Rosanna Bellini

Rosanna Bellini is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science & Engineering at New York University and an affiliate of the NYU Center for Cybersecurity. Her research sits at the intersection of computer security and privacy and human-computer interaction, asking how to diagnose, respond to, and prevent technology-enabled harm. Her work addresses interpersonal abuse, malicious insider attacks, financial harms, and other safety problems affecting at-risk users. She uses quantitative measurement, qualitative analysis, and human-centered interventions to design socio-technical protections and move research into services and technology design. She was previously a postdoctoral scholar at Cornell Tech and helped lead research for the Clinic to End Tech Abuse; during her doctoral training at Newcastle University’s Open Lab, she studied digital civics and technology in intimate partner abuse contexts.
