Elisa D. Mekler

Elisa D. Mekler is a researcher specializing in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Experience (UX), currently serving as an Associate Professor at the IT University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on game studies, motivation theory, and autonomy, with a particular emphasis on the relationship between digital games and user experience. Her work includes exploring how negative emotions can contribute to positive experiences in games and how theory can be applied to design practice.
